For actors under 18

Minor Participant Terms & Parental Consent

Version v2 · Effective immediately

1. Who this applies to

These terms apply whenever the actor being coached is under 18 years of age ("the Minor"). The parent or legal guardian ("Guardian") booking the session agrees to these terms on the Minor's behalf and confirms they have full legal authority to do so.

2. Parental presence & supervision

  • A parent or legal guardian must be present in the home for the entire duration of every Zoom session.
  • For Minors under 13, the Guardian must remain on camera or within view of the camera for the full session.
  • The Guardian is responsible for the Minor's physical safety, the room they work from, and the device they use.

3. Scope of coaching

Sessions are limited to scene breakdown and audition prep over Zoom. Coaching is craft-focused: text analysis, choices, readings, and self-tape feedback. No physical direction, no in-person meetings, no off-platform contact with the Minor.

4. Communication rules

  • All scheduling, payment, and follow-up communication goes through the Guardian's email and phone number — never directly with the Minor.
  • No direct messaging, social media contact, or texting between coach and Minor outside of the booked Zoom session.
  • The Zoom link is single-use per session and sent to the Guardian's email.

5. Material & content

The Guardian is responsible for reviewing any scene, sides, or audition material the Minor brings to a session. If material contains adult themes, language, violence, intimacy, or other content the Guardian deems inappropriate, the Guardian must communicate that before the session so the coach can adjust the work. The coach reserves the right to decline material that is not age-appropriate for the Minor.

6. Recording & privacy (child-safety policy)

  • Every coaching session involving a Minor will be recorded and stored on the Zoom cloud. This is a non-negotiable child-safety policy: it protects the Minor, the Guardian, and the coach by creating a verifiable record of what happened on camera.
  • Recordings are stored in the coach's private Zoom account, are not public, and are not shared on social media or used for marketing.
  • The Guardian may request a copy of a session recording by emailing info@scenetoscene.com.
  • Recordings may be retained for a reasonable period for safety, dispute-resolution, and quality purposes, and may be disclosed if required by law or in response to a credible safety concern.
  • The coach will not use the Minor's name, image, voice, or likeness in marketing, testimonials, or any public material without separate written consent from the Guardian.
  • The Guardian agrees not to record and re-share the session publicly without prior written consent from the coach.

7. Mandatory reporting

The coach will comply with all applicable laws regarding the safety of minors, including any mandatory reporting obligations. Nothing in these terms limits or replaces those legal duties.

8. Payment, refunds & cancellation

Standard payment and refund policy applies (see the booking page). Sessions are paid via Zelle by the Guardian. Refunds are not guaranteed; reserved time slots are held for the Minor and closed off to other clients once booked. Please cancel at least 24 hours ahead when possible.

9. Liability & assumption of risk

Coaching is an educational service, not a guarantee of casting, representation, or any specific career outcome. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Guardian agrees that Scene to Scene and its coach are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the coaching service. The Guardian assumes responsibility for the Minor's participation, including the home environment, the device, and the internet connection used during sessions.

10. Right to end a session

The coach may pause or end a session if the Guardian is not present as required, if material is not age-appropriate, or if continuing would not be in the Minor's best interest. The Guardian may end any session at any time.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.

12. Consent

By checking the consent box on the booking form, the Guardian confirms: (a) they are the parent or legal guardian of the Minor, (b) they have read and agree to these terms in full, (c) they consent to the Minor participating in 1:1 Zoom coaching with Scene to Scene under the conditions above, and (d) the contact information they have provided is accurate.
